The Six Senses Con Dao in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is among the world’s 50 best new hotels in 2011, according to a list unveiled by Travel+Leisure magazine earlier this week.
Travel+Leisure's sixth annual list of the 50 best new hotels features properties from around the world, from the quiet Havana hotel in San Antonio to the extravagant Leela Palace Kempinski in New Delhi.
The five-star beach hotel on the Con Dao archipelago covers an area of 13 hectares with 50 wooden villas along a 1-km stretch of coast. The heart of the resort is designed to resemble a traditional Vietnamese village.
Last year, the hotel was named the Best Hotel Construction and Design for Small Hotels in the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2010 and the Best International Small Hotel Construction and Design at the International Commercial Property Awards 2010, held in association with Bloomberg Television.
The hotel can be reached by a 45 minute-flight from Ho Chi Minh City.
